Batavia Youth Baseball Scholarship

Batavia Youth Baseball is offering scholarships for higher education course work tuition for young persons who have participated in the BYB program while growing up and are now pursuing a career requiring post-secondary education. 

All submissions must be received by March 20, 2026.

  • Award: Between two and four scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000.
  • Focus: For graduating BHS seniors who participated in BYB and are pursuing post-secondary education.
  • BYB Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the program (as a player or umpire).
  • Exclusivity: Must not have participated in a competing spring/summer baseball program while living within Batavia school boundaries prior to high school.
  • Essay: A 500–1000 word essay on the topic: "How my Batavia Youth Baseball experience influenced the person I am today."
  • Selection: Recipients are awarded via lottery from all eligible applicants.

Jason Prescott Memorial Scholarship

The Jason Prescott Memorial Scholarship is offered in loving memory of Jason Prescott by Batavia Youth Baseball, to which he made such a significant and lasting impact.

All submissions must be received by March 20, 2026. 

  • Award: One $1,500 non-renewable scholarship.
  • Focus: Honors a graduating BHS senior who has been involved in BYB and demonstrated a significant positive impact on their community.
  • BYB Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the program (as a player or umpire).
  • Exclusivity: Must not have participated in a competing spring/summer baseball program while living within Batavia school boundaries prior to high school.
  • Essay: A maximum 500-word essay describing your commitment to community service and its impact.
  • Selection: The recipient is chosen at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
