Jake Skala - BYB Trainer
I am entering my 8th year coaching as a results-driven baseball hitting coach with experience developing athletes from youth levels through NCAA Division I. A former collegiate player at Cornerstone University, I bring a growth mindset and a strong commitment to player-driven development.
As Hitting Coordinator for Johansen Baseball 2.0, I designed individualized training programs, managed remote clients, and co-launched a podcast to share hitting knowledge. At Wheaton College, my hitters produced historic offensive numbers, set multiple school records, earned several All-Conference and All-Region honors, and saw a graduate transfer to Division I. Earlier, I served as Graduate Assistant Hitting Coach at Minot State University, coached in the Valley Baseball League with the Staunton Braves, and worked extensively in private instruction and travel baseball.
My coaching toolkit includes constraint-based training, data-driven analysis, and advanced technology such as Blast Motion, HitTrax, Rapsodo, Bertec Force Plates, Swing Catalyst, and TPI screens. I hold USA Baseball A, B, and C certifications and Signal 6º certification. Whether working with college programs, travel teams, or individual athletes, I prioritize meaningful relationships, clear communication, and sustainable skill growth.
I am excited to bring my expertise and experience to the BYB community, see you in the cages!
